OFFICE SPACE NORTH DORSET
It’s all go at the centre as usual.
This month we have said ‘bye for now’ to Bookkeeper For You and welcomed Octopus Personnel as a virtual office.
We’ve also said goodbye to Marvel Bookkeeping who have moved out to a lovely big space on Longmead Industrial Park. We are sad to see Kate and her team depart but are so very proud of them. Kate started here as a lone worker in Unit 8 and quickly grew her staff and office space into Unit 10. She employed even more and soon had to work from home herself in order to fit everyone in. This month she has taken her team up to 7 and moving into her new space has meant that there is room for all… including an adjoining office just for her! We wish Marvel all the very best as they continue to grow and be MARVELous!
At the end of the month we have also seen Bid & Box leave us. They are another incredible success story. What a year Ceri, Rick and Lysa have had! They moved into the centre from their ‘spare room’ in March 2025 with the beginnings of a business collecting items from Auction houses and shipping them off safely to their new homes. They joined us in Unit 25 and very quickly outgrew that room and upsized into one of our largest units. Unfortunately (for Rick) this office was upstairs and I’m sure the many many steps that they had to take every day loading in deliveries of packaging and auction items has led to their decision to take a larger leased space on the business park. They won’t be far away and we of course wish them all the very best and continued success. Surely a nomination for the Best Family Run Business in this year’s Shaftesbury Business Awards?!
All these changes have left The Wincombe Centre with three wonderful units looking for their new occupiers. Unit 10 at 273 sq ft, Unit 25 at 159 sq ft, and Unit 44 at 115 sq ft. A great mix of sizes available to offer local small businesses or work from home businesses looking for their first office! Check out our Rightmove listing for information.
This month we’ve completed a two week project to replace all the windows along the rear of Block 2. We’re passionate about our lovely business centre and continually try to improve and keep on top of any maintenance issues that arise so that we can all be proud of our workplace. Over the last year and a half we have successfully transformed the building, recoating the roof, installing all new gutters and replacing the worn out wooden windows for shiny new UPVC ones in 34 of our 41 units! We have just 7 units along the front of Block 2 left to do later this year.
Units along the rear of Block 2 had to each work from home for one day so that Spire Glass could rip out the old and install the new. It took a week to work along all the units and in the second week the team worked externally to complete the lower section of cladding. Businesses have commented that their rooms are noticeably warmer already so we may even find that we save of heating costs along the way.

All new windows are a different size to the old, so Blackmore Vale Blinds are soon to install 21 new venetian blinds to complete the works. I have to say that the Spire Glass, team led by a chap called Dave, and Martin from BV Blinds have been SUPERB! So, I would thoroughly recommend them both companies.
