Summer Heatwave

The Wincombe Centre has had a cracking month and haven’t we all had a memorable summer with the weather. I must say, we’re looking forward to doing our quarterly readings to see how our solar panels have performed!! It hasn’t all been good fun though when we learnt that the reception has the ability to heat up to greenhouse temperatures with all of our aluminium and glass. Blackmore Vale Blinds came to our rescue in part with some solar reflective vinyl. Installing that on the front glass has made a huge difference and we no longer walk into a sauna when we arrive at 9.

Show Day

Being out and about at Gillingham & Shaftesbury Show on the 19th was great: chatting to clients, suppliers and some of our Wincombe businesses was lovely. We even had some rain which made a welcome change.

A big THANK YOU to Bloomfields IFA for the most superb hospitality on your ‘best in show stand! We really enjoyed our cream tea.

It was great to chat with Friars Moor Livestock Health who were cooking up a storm on the barbi when we passed,

and to the team from Pangea Insurance Brokers with their lovely stand – complete with horsebox refreshments.

Catley Chilled Foods were again entertaining the crowds with their auction style man on the Mic.

We even popped in to thank Homemaker for saving our summer with a fridge for reception!!

What a day! We were glad to be back in the office the next day resting our tired toes.

Welcome!

New business Synthesize Energy Ltd joins us in Unit 31 this week. We wish John all the best with his start up. We are thrilled that he chose us and are so pleased to welcome him to the centre.

But, we did have to say a sad farewell to another of our businesses, as Miles leaves us for the time being. He’s been on long term sick leave for a good long while and isn’t recovering as quickly as he had hoped, so he has moved his podiatry surgery to storage for now. We hope to see him back here again one day and wish him a speedy journey back to full fitness.
